Agatha Christie'nin 1929 tarihli kısa hikayesi The House of Lurking Death’ten uyarlanan filmin başrolünde Fransız sinemasının usta aktörü André Dussollier var. Prudence (Catherine Frot) ve Belisaire Beresford (Andre Dussollier) amatör dedektiflik yapan, yaşı geçkin bir çifttir.
